Japanese learning environment with audio and text materials

About Domain

Domain started in 2025 to address one specific gap: most Japanese learners can read reasonably well but struggle badly when listening to native-speed speech. Every lecture here is built around that single problem.

How it works

Each lecture is a structured audio session paired with a written transcript and comprehension checkpoints. Learners work through content in sequence — there is no jumping ahead, because each session builds directly on what came before.

Yuki Hartmann leads the listening instruction. He has spent years working with intermediate learners who plateaued precisely because their input was almost entirely text-based. Petra Volkov designs the curriculum structure, controlling pacing and difficulty so sessions stay challenging without becoming overwhelming.

The format is remote by design. Sessions are self-paced so you can replay segments, pause to check vocabulary, and revisit tricky passages without being held to a classroom schedule. You study where and when your schedule allows.
